The name "pre phylloxera" suggests that the cultivation of this vineyard began before 1900, thus before the advent of phylloxera in Piedmont. Yields are very low, and the resulting Barbera is complex and capable of long aging. Fermentation takes place in steel while aging is for one year in large oak barrels.
