The name "Pattachitra" comes from the Sanskrit word Patta which stands for canvas or chitra. It is a painting done on canvas with rich and colourful motifs and designs. These paintings showcase simple themes, mostly mythological characters. Kandarpa Hasti, also known as Navanarikunjara, is inspired by the Krishna Leela. It depicts nine Gopis, or unmarried women, who are
