Two types of threads are used: British Standard Pipe Taper (BSPT) and British Standard Pipe Parallel (BSPP)

Fire Hydrant 2 1/2" NH Flushing Elbow Female Threads_NYFD Our dry hydrant adapters fitThe fire hydrant flushing elbow attaches to the 2 1 2 inch NH NST side outlet of the fire hydrant. The design of the flushing elbow is made to divert the main water force away from traffic and ground cover. A female swivel fitting allows the aluminum elbow to be pointed away from traffic.
